Per kWh saved

Based on indoor LED lighting and network lighting control installations. Buildings must have permanent electric service from a local power company (LPC) or TVA. Projects with network lighting controls throughout the building receive an additional 10% savings.

How the incentive is calculated

Building type entered

The building type is entered into the application to generate the baseline Lighting Power Density (LPD), which references 2009 IECC new construction codes.

Wattage & square footage

Total wattage and square footage are entered to generate the designed LPD for the project.

kWh savings calculated

The difference between the baseline LPD and designed LPD is multiplied by total building square footage, run hours, and interactive effects to calculate the kWh savings.

$0.10/kWh for indoor lighting and network lighting controls in new buildings, expansions and major renovations
Applications must be sent within 180 days after install or invoice date
Building must have permanent electric service from local power company (LPC) or TVA
No qualified product list requirement (DLC, ENERGY STAR, LDL)

Rules & Guidelines

No pre-approval required
Projects may require post inspection
Documents required: COMcheck or similar, spec sheets, documents to verify square footage and invoices
For buildings with major renovations, a COMcheck must be provided to verify the building has undergone a major renovation
Incentives are capped at 70% of material cost
Projects must meet the minimum Standard Incentive requirement of $150
